Simply Saving Lives . . .
In December 2007 the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act was signed, mandating that, in addition to an approved drain cover, all single main drain public swimming pools and spas must have a secondary protective device such as an automatic pump shut-off system installed.
According to the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission), any public swimming pool or spa not in compliance with the Virginia Graeme Baker Act by December 19th, 2008 may face fines exceeding $15M. To learn more about the Act, click here to be redirected to the CPSC's website.
